As Miami's first category six hurricane approaches, Valeria—the family matriarch—hunkers down with her daughter/caregiver and granddaughter to prepare for what is to come. Haunted by her past and the onset of dementia, Valeria weaves in and out of reality while traversing the many magical moments of her life. As they all navigate the storm and its aftermath, buried familial secrets resurface that force them all to face the fragility and resilience of their relationships and love for one another.
